Daniel Dubois knocked out Kyotaro Fujimoto in two rounds to end his 2019 in style on Saturday night in London.
The highly touted heavyweight prospect added his Japanese foe to his highlight reel by flooring him with a single brutal right hand.
The fight began with Fujimoto being staggered a couple of times in the opening session as he experienced a taste of the Brit’s power.
Dubois then put him down with a jab at the beginning of round two, before finishing the job with a straight right not long later.
The 22-year-old said post-fight: “I just thought after the first couple of shots I needed to pace myself and let him come to me.
“I knew I had the power and I was really confident in what I’d do tonight.
“What can I say? I landed a sweet shot and that was goodnight.”
Promoter Frank Warren then revealed that Dubois will return in April at the O2 Arena.
The interview concluded with Joe Joyce’s manager Sam Jones having a bit of back and forth with Warren as Dubois’ promoter called for them to match the unbeaten British heavyweights next.
