‘Like Neymar in his prime’ – Chelsea, Liverpool and Man United urged to sign Jadon Sancho after incredible Dor

Premier League clubs have been urged to break the bank for Jadon Sancho following his electric display for Borussia Dortmund against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

Despite being surrounded by some of the world’s best attackers, including Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, the 19-year-old England international was mightily impressive during his side’s 2-1 victory.

He played with a swagger and confidence that showed exactly why the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea are expected to bid more than £100million for his signature this summer.

Erling Haaland grabbed most of the plaudits for netting both of Dortmund’s goals, becoming the fastest player ever to reach double figures in the Champions League, but pundits were still left purring by Sancho’s performance.

Former England midfielder Owen Hargreaves told BT Sport: “He played like Neymar in his prime.

“The confidence and the arrogance he had, in a good way, he embraced the occasion.

Signing Jadon Sancho could help Liverpool dominate the Premier League for years, says Jason Cundy

“He was unplayable. Everybody get your chequebook out and go sign that kid – because he is special.”

Sancho has 13 goals and 13 assists in 20 Bundesliga matches this season – and he is widely expected to secure a big-money move this summer.

The teenager has been linked with almost every big club in Europe, with Real Madrid and Barcelona also thought to be monitoring his progress.

And former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas also heaped praise on the Dortmund winger.

“It was a show of maturity beyond his years,” Jenas told BT Sport. “The composure, the skill, the lack of respect for these senior pros that he’s coming up against.

“He is a huge focal point for Dortmund in terms of what he brings.

“More often than not he picks the right option and he created a lot of chances for this Dortmund side.

“It always felt like he was going to do something.”

Ahead of the game, Neymar heaped praise on Sancho and called him a ‘special player’.

“Jadon is a player that I really like to watch play and he is a great player with plenty of quality,” he said.

“He is a good player. We all know how difficult it will be for us here at Dortmund. We are hoping to play a good game to get a good result back to Paris.”
