The kits will feature a special crest to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the club’s formation
Manchester City have unveiled their home and away kits for the 2019/20 which “pay tribute to Manchester’s industrial and cultural heritage”.
The Premier League champions have teamed up with Puma after signing a ten-year kit deal with the German sports brand earlier this year.
Their home kit is unsurprisingly in the traditional sky blue but features a “woven jacquard wave pattern” which is supposed to represent the cotton looms which made Manchester the world’s first industrial city.
City’s kit also bears a special crest to commemorate the club’s 125th anniversary, while also featuring purple flashes on the shoulder as City strips in the past have had purple on it.
The away kit is all black and is a celebration of the city’s ‘Madchester’ years, while also having iconic yellow strips in tribute to the famous Hacienda nightclub. The sleeve cuffs are peach and sky blue.
Puma’s global brand marketing director Adam Petrick said: “The partnership between Manchester City and Puma goes way beyond football.
“We want the club’s global fans and local Mancunians to all feel invested in this and it starts with combining our very creative kit designs with authentic stories from Manchester’s history and music scene.
“We want to bring Manchester City and Puma’s brand initiatives together when and wherever we can, and that means going beyond the pitch, into wider areas of football culture such as gaming, community, fashion and music.
“That’s how we can really impact football fans of all ages and demographics.”
Time will tell on whether these new garms will really go beyond football but below are some more pictures of the new Manchester City home and away kits.
