Arsenal Fan TV host Robbie Lyle has responded to the angry Gunners fans who protested his YouTube channel following the 0-0 stalemate with Everton on Saturday afternoon.
Lyle required a police escort out of Goodison Park after Gunners vented their discontent with the channel after the dreary encounter at Goodison Park.
The media outlet, famous for its public criticism of the team, has been held responsible by many for creating a toxic atmosphere at the club.
However, Lyle has responded by questioning the fans’ decision to focus their attention on his station rather than bring about positivity following Mikel Arteta’s appointment as manager.
In the latest YouTube clip posted by AFTV, he said: “Merry Christmas to those guys who wasted their time. You know what there’s about ten or 15 of them who have been piping up from inside the ground, trying to get songs going. I just don’t understand it.
“[Mikel] Arteta’s in the stands. We’re on the verge of a new era. You’d have thought those fans would have loved to get behind the team instead of wasting their time.”
A regular guest of the channel, DT, also hit out at the protesting fans, claiming they need to ‘reevaluate’ what they’re doing.
DT said: “In regards to those fans, I’d like to say thank you to those fans who sung that song, I sung with them!
“People will say about us being toxic but when you come to a football match and all you can do is sing about us then you need to reevaluate your situation.
“‘It’s amazing what drugs can do at 6am in the morning.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has leapt to the defence of the channel, insisting that the negativity coming from AFTV is omnly caused because of the dreadful performances of the club.
He wrote: “Hate to see this. Few nicer people or more loyal @Arsenal
fans than Robbie Lyle. The reason AFTV has been so negative in recent years is that we’ve been utter cr*p. Don’t blame the messengers – blame the owners, managers & players.”
