Tyson Fury’s music made Don McLean smile as the ‘Gypsy King’ belted out American Pie following his victory over Deontay Wilder on Saturday.

Before joining the good old boys for some whisky and rye, Fury led a singalong of the famous tune at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

His fans, who travelled in huge numbers, joined in the two-minute rendition, and the song’s originator, McLean, loved every second of it.

“He did very well,” the 74-year-old told TMZ, “I would say he’s the no.1 bar room singer. Excellent job!

“The thing that knocked me out was that everybody, all the old folks, young folks, everybody knew all the words. Kind of a thrill for me to see that!”

And the American singer-songwriter insisted he would love to perform a duet of the classic with Fury one day, adding: “That would be fun!”
