Tyson Fury trainer Ben Davison responds to Dillian Whyte after ‘Body Snatcher’ slams Tom Schwarz fight

Tyson Fury’s trainer Ben Davison has dismissed Dillian Whyte’s accusation that they are avoiding him in the wake of the ‘Gypsy King’s’ win over Tom Schwarz on Saturday night.

Fury battered his overmatched German opponent in two rounds in Las Vegas, prompting an angry social media post from his British rival.

Whyte stated: “Can’t believe I stayed [up] to watch that joke of a fight.

“Tyson Fury should be ashamed of himself, running away from me and fighting these chumps.

“My mother would have knocked out Tom the bum in a round.”

After heating these comments, Davison told Boxing Social: “Dillian Whyte’s entitled to his own opinion.

“The only thing I would say is that he [Fury] is obviously not avoiding Dillian Whyte because he’s taking Deontay Wilder.

“Why would you put yourself in a final eliminator when you can fight straight for the title against, in my opinion, a tougher fight.

“He’s already stepped up [for] the Deontay Wilder fight when it wasn’t the right time.

“Even though he put in the performance that he put in, it wasn’t the right time.

“But like I said, Dillian Whyte’s entitled to his own opinions.

“He’s got his own fight to worry about, let him deal with that and I’m sure if his team’s doing the right job, he’ll get a title shot at somebody.

“He’s entitled to his own opinion, but how can you be avoiding Dillian Whyte, but fight Deontay Wilder?”
