UFC 239: Slow motion replay of Jan Blachowicz KO on Luke Rockhold shows exact moment he broke his jaw

Damn! Blachowicz told talkSPORT he would drop Rockhold in the second, but after only one finish in nine years, not many fans were expecting it

One of the huge storylines heading into UFC 239 was former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold’s move up to light-heavyweight.

Ahead of his clash with the sixth-ranked Jan Blachowicz, Rockhold seemed to have eyes for the legendary champion Jon Jones. Maybe a bit too much, in fact.

He said: ‘I’m coming, princess,’ and also insisted that he thinks Jones looks beatable.

“I’m a different man at this weight, with the power behind me. I’m moving up to get after him. So, that’s what I’m here for.”

Well, that notion didn’t last long.

Just as Pole Blachowicz predicted to talkSPORT, he knocked Rockhold out in the second round and he broke his jaw in the process.

Take a look at the video below to see the vicious knockout. No wonder he wasn’t getting back up!

This leaves Rockhold in a tough spot and president Dana White has questioned whether he needs to be fighting anymore.

For Blachowicz, he now finds himself on the verge of a shot at Jones with perhaps only one more win needed for the UFC veteran.
