What did Ancelotti achieve as Real manager?

Ancelotti joined Real in summer 2013 to replace Jose Mourinho.

Real had been aiming to win their 10th Champions League for over a decade when he arrived. In his first season, he captured the trophy by beating local rivals Atletico Madrid in the final.

Ancelotti became only the second manager to win the trophy on three occasions.

His second season was more difficult. He finished second again but was knocked out at the semi-finals stage of the Champions League. Real let him go in the summer of 2015.

How has he performed at Everton?

Ancelotti arrived at Everton with the club 15th in the Premier League. He stabilised them, picking up eight wins and five draws in his first 19 games in charge. They climbed to 12th by the end of the campaign.

Everton then started his first full season in charge brilliantly, with Ancelotti being named manager of the month. They looked to be among the initial title contenders.

By the end of 2020, they were fourth in the league and in contention for the Champions League places.

However, they dipped off badly as the season wore on, ultimately finishing 10th. That saw them miss out on European qualification entirely.
