Jaylen Brown will not take the court for the Boston Celtics again this season.

The C’s announced Monday that Brown was diagnosed with a torn scapholunate ligament in his left wrist and is expected to undergo surgery later this week. He has officially been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign.

Forsberg: Inconsistent C’s seem bound for play-in tournament

Losing Brown for the rest of the year is a huge blow to a Celtics team that has struggled without him recently. Brown was named to his first All-Star team this season and averaged a career-high 24.7 points through 58 games played. He missed the last three games with a right ankle sprain.

The Celtics have four games left in their regular-season schedule and will aim to avoid the play-in tournament. After Sunday’s loss to Miami, Boston sits two games behind the Heat (35-33) with a seventh-place spot in the Eastern Conference standings.

The C’s and Heat will face off again Tuesday night at 7:30 p.m. ET.
