Fresh injury fears have emerged for Sadio Mane as the Liverpool winger was substituted at half-time in Tuesday’s clash with Atletico Madrid.
Mane only returned from a hamstring issue, which ruled him out for two Premier League games, in Saturday’s 1-0 win at Norwich.
He came off the bench at Carrow Road to score the winning goal as Liverpool’s opened their lead at the top of the table to 25 points.
However, his withdrawal at the break at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium will concern Liverpool fans.
Mane and Liverpool endured a difficult opening 45 minutes in Madrid, conceding a fourth-minute goal to Saul Niguez in their Champions League last-16 tie.
The Senegal attacker, who has netted 16 goals in all competitions so far this season, was also booked for a foul on Atletico right-back Sime Vrsaljko.
The yellow card could have been a reason for his substitution, however, he might not be fully fit yet.
Mane was replaced by Divock Origi as the Reds were unable to find an equaliser and trail 1-0 in the tie.
