The Warriors struck a deal just before Thursday’s NBA trade deadline.
Golden State is sending Brad Wanamaker to the Charlotte Hornets, sources told The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
The Warriors also traded Marquese Chriss to the San Antonio Spurs.
And here is some very important context:
The Warriors dipped into their taxpayer mid-level exception to sign Wanamaker back in November, but he just never found a groove.
The 31-year-old averaged 4.6 points and 2.2 assists over his final 19 appearances, while shooting below 35 percent from the field and 19.2 percent from beyond the arc.
He essentially has been out of the rotation since the All-Star break.
The Hornets were in need of a guard after rookie star LaMelo Ball broke fractured his right wrist last Saturday.
