Manchester United supporter Tyson Fury looked on in bemused horror as Paul Pogba had a crucial penalty saved at Wolves on Monday night.
Matters were made worse for the ‘lineal’ heavyweight champion as he lost a $5 bet with featherweight gymmate Isaac Lowe over whether the midfielder would score.
United took the lead in the first half through Anthony Martial, much to Fury’s delight as he declared his side were going to win the league.
However, Ruben Neves pegged them back in the second period and Pogba didn’t take his opportunity to score a potential winner.
The match finished 1-1 and United missed the chance to go top of the league.
Meanwhile, Fury will return on September 14 against little-known Otto Wallin.
He is currently out in America training ahead of the bout and will be hoping his team’s poor result doesn’t affect morale too much as he enters the final weeks of preparation.
