The Steelers began preparation for Sunday night’s game against the Seattle Seahawks, a game where they will be without receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster. Smith-Schuster suffered a shoulder injury against the Broncos that Coach Mike Tomlin said will require surgery today and land him on the Reserve/Injured list.

Ben Roethlisberger didn’t practice, still listed with a pectoral/hip injury. Also not practicing were linebacker Melvin Ingram III and guard Trai Turner, both given the day off and not health related.

Linebacker Devin Bush, who came out of the Broncos game with a groin injury, was a full participant on Wednesday, a good sign for the defense.

“He’ll be evaluated, and his practice availability and the quality of that practice participation will be our guide in terms of his availability,” said Tomlin of Bush on Tuesday. “The same thing can be said for guys that have recently missed time but are probably in position to be on the strong consideration for play.”

Those players Tomlin was referring to include Cameron Sutton (groin), James Washington (groin), and Carlos Davis (knee). Sutton was a full participant on Wednesday, while Washington and Davis were limited.

“All will be working in some capacity, and then we’ll progress hopefully in a positive way, toward game time,” said Tomlin.

Also limited in practice were receiver Chase Claypool (hamstring) and defensive tackle Cameron Heyward (neck).
