WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman has spoken out in support of Tyson Fury following new allegations made about his resolved UKAD case.

In February 2015, a urine sample from Fury reported the presence of elevated levels of nandrolone metabolites in his system.

A protracted case ensued in which the Brit’s defence stated that this adverse finding was the result of eating uncastrated wild boar.

Now however, Martin Carefoot, a farmer in Preston, has alleged in a Mail on Sunday interview that he agreed to accept £25,000 to provide false statements saying he supplied the wild boar.

He claims these statements were then used as evidence.

In December 2017, UKAD and Fury issued a joint statement revealing that they’d agreed a compromise resolution in which Fury received a backdated two-year ban and would be free to fight again immediately.

It has been suggested UKAD may now re-open the case if substance can be found to Carefoot’s comments.

There have also been questions asked of the WBC, whose belt Fury now holds following his win over Deontay Wilder.

However, WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman has instantly made it clear that he is standing by his champion.

Sulaiman told Lance Pugmire: “My first reaction is – What credibility could someone who allegedly received money to lie have now?

“This seems to be a shake down… This matter happened many years ago…

The WBC has to go by the multiple tests that Fury has performed in the Clean Boxing Program and all have been negative.

“Unless there is a formal case put forward, I don’t see this matter other than ‘fake news.’

We are proud of Fury as our WBC champion and how he has turned around his life.”

Meanwhile Fury’s co-promoter Frank Warren has blasted the claims.

Warren told SunSport: “This man wrote me a letter last October, full of errors, asking for money.

“I told him to clear off and take it up with UK anti-doping, instead he has clearly sold his story to a newspaper.

“Tyson has never ever met this man and his story is total bulls***.”
