Liverpool are considering signing veteran goalkeeper Andy Lonergan following Alisson’s injury, according to reports.
The Brazilian was forced off with a calf problem in the first-half of Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Norwich on Friday.
He was replaced by former West Ham stopper Adrian, who only joined the Reds last week.
Anfield boss Jurgen Klopp confirmed Alisson will miss the club’s UEFA Super Cup clash against Chelsea on Wednesday – and there are fears he could be crocked for up to eight weeks.
Lonergan, who trained with the Reds during the summer, is a free agent after being released by Middlesbrough at the end of last season.
And with Liverpool’s third-choice goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher still recovering from a broken wrist, the BBC claim Lonergan is an option for the Champions League holders.
The 35-year-old would provide cover for Adrian, who has impressed Klopp since signing a two-year deal with the Reds.
He said: “He is a very confident guy.
“He came in and I don’t think he wanted to only sit on the bench for the next couple of years. He made himself ready.
“So yes, it’s a situation, but if you are in a situation like this you want to have somebody who played the league, who is experienced.
“He’s 32, he’s a calm guy, good with his feet, so [there are] a lot of good things.
“But you still don’t want to have a situation where [only] one goalie is fit. That’s how it is but we have to see.”
