Eddie Hearn is adamant that Anthony Joshua will still fight Tyson Fury, Deontay Wilder and Dillian Whyte, despite suffering his first career defeat to Andy Ruiz Jr.

The unified heavyweight champion was dethroned of his world titles last month, but intends to win them back again in an immediate rematch later this year.

If he does so in spectacular fashion, the big fights will all be back on the table and his profile will be greater than ever before.

When asked specifically about Joshua vs Fury, Hearn told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast on talkSPORT: “I think all those fights are inevitable.

“I see the press now, ‘Oh, if AJ loses to Ruiz his career’s over.’

“The aim is to win the rematch, and I believe he will.

“But I think all those fights, even AJ against Dillian Whyte – the first fight was an epic fight, that’s always a big fight.

“AJ against Fury, AJ against Wilder, Whyte against Fury.

“All these top, top guys should be and will be fighting each other.”

Hearn promotes a large portion of the heavyweight division at present, working with Joshua, Whyte, Joseph Parker, Oleksandr Usyk, Murat Gassiev, Derek Chisora, Michael Hunter and Filip Hrgovic.

One name that stands out in that list is former undisputed cruiserweight king Usyk, who is now in line to challenge the winner of Ruiz vs Joshua II.

Hearn continued: “Oleksandr Usyk as well, mandatory for the [WBO] world heavyweight title.

“He’s another that’s gonna be in the mix fighting all these guys.

“The heavyweight division right now, I believe, is the healthiest it’s been for a long time.

“There’s ten guys who are all capable of beating each other, and that’s when you know you’ve got some great fights to make.”
