Josh Warrington has parted ways with Frank Warren and joined up with rival promoter Eddie Hearn.
The Leeds fighter made a surprise move from Hearn’s Matchroom to join Warren’s Queensberry Promotions back in 2016 and went on to become IBF featherweight world champion.
In his first two bouts with Warren, Warrington defeated Kiko Martinez and Dennis Ceylan to secure his shot at the world title against Lee Selby.
He then dethroned Selby at Elland Road – the home of his beloved Leeds United – in May 2018 and went on to successfully defend his IBF belt against Carl Frampton seven months later.
Warrington fought twice last year, beating Kid Galahad and Sofiane Takoucht, to extend his professional record to 30-0.
Warren had been in talks for his man to secure a unification with WBO featherweight champion Shakur Stevenson in May, but with a deal not done the Leeds man has now decided to head in a different direction and rejoin Hearn’s stable.
Warrington will now compete on Sky Sports in the UK and DAZN in the US.
