We all miss football right now, but not quite as much as Chris Kamara did on April 3, 2010.
In fact, just over ten years ago, Kammy missed it entirely as Anthony Vanden Borre was sent off during Portsmouth’s clash with Blackburn.
‘Unbelievable, Jeff’ quickly became ‘I don’t know, Jeff’ in a moment of TV gold which will live forever in football folklore.
To this day, it still leaves us in stitches just like the Soccer Saturday gang. You had one job, Kammy!
The hilarious moment has been brilliantly parodied on Tik Tok by a fan who dressed up like the Sky Sports reporter to relive the moment.
You’ve got to watch it…
And Kammy joined talkSPORT’s Breakfast show on Friday to try and offer an explanation for his hilarious blunder.
He told Alan Brazil and Ray Parlour: “Well, Avram Grant was stood on the touchline and so I presumed because there had been a few goals going in, and obviously I have to turn my back to the game to speak to the camera.
“Charlie Nicholas had shouted goal, Phil Thompson had shouted goal, so Carly Bassett, Dave Bassett’s daughter, who was the link between me and Jeff said ‘right it’s you now Kammy’.
“When Jeff mentioned a sending off I didn’t have an absolute clue. There’s two ways to go in that situation. You either lie through your back teeth or you tell the truth.
“By telling the truth, I got away with it.”
