Dave Allen was stretchered out of the ring and taken to hospital following his one-sided defeat to David Price on Saturday night at the O2 Arena.
The ‘White Rhino’s’ trainer Darren Barker called the contest off after 30 minutes of pure domination in the chief supporting contest prior to Dillian Whyte vs Oscar Rivas.
The fight began with Price setting the pace and he started as he meant to go on.
Boxing behind a stern jab, the Scouser controlled the entire contest, barely allowing Allen into it for any period of time.
While the fight wasn’t a thriller, it remained enthralling as fans were waiting for the moment popular ‘people’s champion’ Allen would turn things around.
However, unlike in his wins over Nick Webb and Lucas Browne, this moment never came.
Following the ending, Allen was taken to the Royal London hospital as a precaution.
He was stretchered out after attempting to stand up before collapsing back down with his legs giving way.
