Jack Grealish continues to be overlooked for an England call-up by Gareth Southgate, who has recalled Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Callum Hudson-Odoi to his squad for upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers.
The Three Lions take on Montenegro and Kosovo later this month, with a draw against the former a week today confirming England’s qualification for next summer’s tournament.
Oxlade-Chamberlain and Hudson-Odoi are both back in the 27-man squad selected for the two fixtures, the first of which is the 1000th men’s international to be played by England.
James Maddison returns to the squad as he awaits his Three Lions debut, despite being criticised for visiting a casino after pulling out of England duty during the previous international break.
He is one of two uncapped players in the squad alongside Chelsea centre-half Fikayo Timori, who received his first call-up last time out by failed to get on the pitch against Czech Republic or Bulgaria.
John Stones, like Oxlade-Chamberlain and Hudson-Odoi, has been recalled, but fellow defender Michael Keane has been dropped by Southgate amid a tough season for the Everton man.
There is also still no place for Kyle Walker and Dele Alli, while Mason Mount does earn a call-up despite appearing to suffer an injury during Chelsea’s Champions League draw with Ajax on Tuesday.
