Joseph Parker has proven himself to be quite the showman lately.
The 28-year-old former world heavyweight champion has been providing some much-needed feelgood entertainment during a very uncertain time.
First, he recreated the ‘Dancing Prime Minister’ scene from the film Love Actually, then channelled his inner-John Travolta to become Danny Zuko in the film Grease.
He also did a hilarious lip sync of 1960s hit Build Me Up Buttercup, which starred WBC heavyweight champ Tyson Fury.
But Parker’s latest video may be his best one yet, recreating a brilliant scene from the 2008 film Step Brothers.
Starring Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly, Step Brothers hilariously portrays how out of hand things can get with sibling rivalry but Parker’s video comes from a scene which doesn’t star the main protagonists.
Instead, it’s Will Ferrell’s character, Brennan’s, younger and more successful brother Derek, who got his family to sing a classical rendition of Guns N’ Roses song Sweet Child O’ Mine.
Below you can see Parker playing all four members of Derek’s family, including his unenthusiastic wife and two children.
The New Zealander has lifted spirits as the coronavirus pandemic continues to affect many across the world.
In an exclusive interview with talkSPORT, Parker revealed his motives behind doing the videos.
Shortly after releasing the Love Actually video, he said: “The reason behind doing the video was firstly I’ve seen the film a long time ago but that scene always sticks out to me.
“My mate came up with the idea and said ‘hey, let’s shoot it.’ It was a bit of fun, my kids were there and enjoying it.
“To put a smile on people’s faces and give them a bit of laughter during these times and to lift their spirits was the goal behind doing the video.
“If boxing doesn’t come out well then I want to switch to dancing!”
