Frank Warren claims Daniel Dubois vs Joe Joyce is ‘virtually’ a world title eliminator – with Joshua, Fury and

Frank Warren believes the winner of Daniel Dubois vs Joe Joyce will be in line for a world title shot by the end of 2020.

With Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder set to resume their rivalry later this month and Anthony Joshua expected to defend his world titles at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium in the summer, a potential domestic set-up awaits the winner of this highly-anticipated fight.

The undefeated British heavyweights will put their unblemished records on the line in their native London on April 11.

Olympic silver medallist Joyce, 34, and British, Commonwealth, WBC Silver and WBO International champion Dubois, 22, will meet at the O2 Arena.

Despite the 12-year age gap between the pair, they only have a combined 24 fights in their professional careers thus far. Given Joyce’s extensive amateur pedigree and Dubois’ explosive rise up the world rankings, the meeting of the two men is perhaps even harder to predict.

But what is clear is the fact both men are eyeing world title opportunities as quickly as possible and Frank Warren joined both men in the talkSPORT studios to confirm a world title tilt could be on the cards for the winner of the April bout.

The Queensberry Promotions owner told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast: “This will virtually be an eliminator for a world title.

“Because I think the winner of this fight is going to end up in a number one spot.

“So after the end of Tyson and Wilder, and obviously Anthony Joshua with his couple of defences, come the end of the year the winner is going to have to fight… Daniel!”

Dubois spoke to talkSPORT.com prior to his December clash with Kyotaro Fujimoto, where he secured his fifth KO of the year and also the WBC Silver title.

Although he reaffirmed his own world title ambitions for 2020, the lineal heavyweight champion of the world himself Tyson Fury also believes ‘Dynamite’ is destined for world honours.

“I’ve had the opportunity to spar him and seen a few of his fights and he is a big prospect,” Fury told the Sports Breakfast back in November.

“I think he’s definitely a future world champion.

“He’s a young lad in a man’s body and the most important thing is not to rush him and I think [promoter] Frank Warren is a master at that and very clever at his job.”
