Christian Eriksen has been named on the bench for Tottenham’s trip to Watford amid rumours of an imminent move to Inter Milan.
Reports suggest the Dane could leave Spurs this weekend after a £17million deal was agreed with the Italian club.
Nonetheless, Jose Mourinho insists Eriksen will feature at Vicarage Road – in a match you can hear LIVE on talkSPORT as part of our exclusive GameDay coverage.
He said at his press conference on Friday: “For a few matches people are saying he is playing his last game. Eriksen plays tomorrow.”
Eriksen will be joined on the bench by new signing Gedson Fernandes, who arrived on loan from Benfica earlier this week.
And Mourinho suggests the 21-year-old midfielder could also play a role from the bench this lunchtime.
He added: “This weekend they can expect him to be involved, starting or not but for sure involved in the team. When you get players in January, normally it’s because you need.
“And we need. because we lost important players for long time so we need his contribution. Young player, yes, just arrived in a new country, yes, but at the same time has experienced of playing for a big club.
“Has played already big matches, for instance Bayern Munich and Galatasaray away in the Champions League. Europa League quarter-finals, so he’s used to a high level of stress, pressure, responsibility.”
Gedson Fernandes is Mourinho’s version of Harry Winks, says Adrian Durham
