Another weekend of Premier League action has passed and once again Manchester United fans were left disappointed by their side’s performance.

The Red Devils have stuttered at the start of the season and have failed to win since their 4-0 drubbing of Chelsea in the opening weekend.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs a win after the international break

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side drew 1-1 with the ten-man Saints just a week after losing to Crystal Palace at home.

And the Old Trafford faithful have rightfully voiced their dismay at the club’s current predicament, despite Ed Woodward and Co. splashing out over £100million on reinforcements over the summer on Harry Maguire, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James.

Since the draw on the south coast, one stat has emerged which will only advance the anxiety amongst United fans.

United’s problems continue to mount

Solskjaer has not led his side to a single win away from home since he was appointed as the full-time manager in March.

What’s even more alarming is that the Red Devils have just one clean sheet in 19 games.

Solskjaer’s record in charge of Man United

  • Solskjaer has won 17, drawn six and lost 10 of the competitive games he’s taken charge of Manchester United  – giving him a win percentage of 51 per cent
  • Solskjaer has not led his side to a single win away from home since he was appointed as the full-time manager in March
  • Following the draw at Southampton, Man United now have just one clean sheet in 19 matches
  • Unted have only won three times in 16 matches
  • United have won by more than a one-goal margin on one occasion since March 6

And Maguire has explained why United struggled against Saints and what they must improve in the coming fixtures.

“We gave the ball away far too much,” said Maguire on manutd.com. “We need to improve on that and show arrogance on the ball and be confident on the ball.

“We’re Man United and we want to control games.”
