The 2022 NFL Draft is shaping up to be all about three teams: the New York Giants, New York Jets and Philadelphia Eagles.
All three could have multiple top-15 picks.
Here’s what CBS Sports predicted in its latest first-round mock, with the order of picks determined by Tankathon.com.
Jets
The Jets have a pair of first-round picks in 2022: their own, plus one from the Seattle Seahawks as part of the Jamal Adams trade.
4. Derek Stingley Jr., CB, LSU
Stingley is a prospect who has been on the radar of NFL teams since his freshman season.
8. (from SEA) Charles Cross, OL, Mississippi State
Cross would come in and start at right tackle.
Giants
The Giants have a pair of first-round picks in 2022: their own, plus one from the Chicago Bears as part of the deal which sent Justin Fields to the Windy City and Kadarius Toney to the Big Apple.
5. (from CHI) Tyler Linderbaum, OL, Iowa
Linderbaum, at No. 5 overall, would be the highest a center has been taken in the modern era. As a talent, he is absolutely worth that investment.
6. George Karlaftis, DE, Purdue
New York upgrades its pass rush in the top ten.
Eagles
The Eagles are sitting on three first-round picks: their own, plus one from the Miami Dolphins in the DeVonta Smith trade and one from the Indianapolis Colts in the Carson Wentz trade.
11. (from MIA) Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame
He can man up in coverage or play downhill and make plays in passing lanes.
12. Ahmad Gardner, CB, Cincinnati
Gardner can be the future beyond (Darius) Slay when the time comes.
23. (from IND) Drake Jackson, LB, USC
Derek Barnett is a free agent and Brandon Graham is not going to be around forever.
