Nicolas Pepe is yet to be officially unveiled as an Arsenal player, but judging by recent images of him modelling the club’s home kit from a leaked video online the deal looks as good as done.
The Gunners are set to smash their transfer record by clinching a £72m deal for the highly-rated Lille attacker.
Pepe, 24, underwent a medical on Tuesday at the club’s training base as he edges closer to signing for the Premier League giants.
And that transfer now appears to be a reality, with the Ivory Coast international posing for photos in the footage, which was leaked on social media on Tuesday night.
The Gunners reportedly only had a £40m transfer budget this summer, but they have already forked out £27m for highly-rated defender William Saliba, £6m on Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli and a whopping £15m to bring Dani Ceballos to the club on a season-long loan from Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Unai Emery remains in the hunt to sign Celtic’s Kieran Tierney for around £25m.
However, Parkhead chiefs are believed to want closer to £30m for the Scotland full-back.
Tierney’s former Bhoys team-mate Virgil van Dijk, has backed the 22-year-old to thrive in the Premier League should have make the move before the August 8 deadline.
“It is not an easy step to make and you have to play well to do it, but he has the qualities,” the Liverpool defender told the Daily Record.
“Kieran made his debut against Dundee when I was at Celtic. I scored a free-kick up there and then he came on and helped us get the win.
“You could tell he was a good player who would do well.”
