A Rangers supporter will be banned from Ibrox for life for taunting Celtic captain Scott Brown over his sister’s death.

A video shared on social media showed the incident, which occurred after Sunday’s Old Firm derby won by the Hoops at Rangers’ Ibrox home.

As Brown made his way to Celtic’s team bus after the match, a supporter can be heard shouting: “How’s your sister?”

The Hoops skipper stared back before police got involved and ordered the abuser to move on.

A different supporter can be heard in the video saying: “Mate, come on to f*** man, that’s out of order.”

The abuse of Brown is a reference to his sister, Fiona, who died from skin cancer 11 years ago, aged 21.

Rangers have now confirmed they will ban the supporter from Ibrox for life, The Herald reports.

Celtic’s skipper has previously been a target of similar abuse on social media, having been sent an image about Fiona and Hoops legend Tommy Burns, who also died of skin cancer, two years ago.
