Real Madrid seem to be determined to sign the Tottenham Hotspur star this summer.
According to a report from Spanish media outlet El Desmarque, Real Madrid still want to sign Tottenham ace Christian Eriksen, but the two clubs remain a long way apart on their respective valuations.
The 27-year-old has just 12 months remaining on his current contract with Spurs, and unless he signs a new deal, he will surely be moved on by Daniel Levy this summer.
Real Madrid continue to court the Denmark international, according to El Desmarque, but as things stand, they are only willing to pay £70 million for the play-maker – £20 million short of Tottenham’s asking price.
The Spanish media outlet also claim that the former Ajax man has asked to leave if and when Los Blancos come knocking.
Eriksen has been a vitally important player for Spurs over the past five or six years, so Mauricio Pochettino will have to bring in an able bodied replacement for the Denmark international, if he is moved on this summer.
£90 million does seem to be a lot of money for someone who is entering the final year of their contract, so perhaps Tottenham might have to lower their demands, or risk losing him for nothing next year.
With Daniel Levy at the helm, however, it would be no surprise to see the north London outfit get the very best deal possible for Eriksen, if they do indeed decide to sell him.
