Stats have shown that Grant McCann’s side have a huge task against Chelsea

While the Tigers have been very inconsistent in the second flight in recent weeks, winning two and drawing two of their last four games.

And if stats are anything to go by, the Championship side have an enormous task to overcome Frank Lampard’s men.

Remarkably, Chelsea have only lost to Hull four times in their ENTIRE history – dating all the way back to 1905.

It’s even more exceptional given the two clubs have actually met on 47 occasions, with the London club coming out on top 33 times, Hull winning on four occasions and the match ending in a draw ten times.

What’s more, recent history suggests it’s going to be a miserable afternoon again for the Yorkshire club.

Chelsea have a superb record against Hull

Since World War II, Hull have come out victorious on just one occasion – in 1988 – and their goalscoring record against Chelsea doesn’t make for much better reading.

In their last ten meetings, Chelsea have hit 20 goals and conceded just four against the Tigers.

This included their FA Cup clash in 2018, where Willian dispatched two inch-perfect finishes in a 4-0 win as Chelsea cruised into the quarter-finals.

But do not despair, Hull fans, as this is the FA Cup – and you never know what this magical competition can can conjure up.
