Wigan ended Nottingham Forest’s 11-game unbeaten run in the Championship with a 1-0 win on Sunday.
Jamal Lowe turned home Gavin Massey’s cross in the 35th minute to stun promotion hopefuls Forest, who had not lost in the league since the opening day of the season.
Subsequently, Sabri Lamouchi’s men missed the chance to go level on points with West Brom at the top of the Championship table.
