John Terry was unimpressed by Jamie Carragher’s decision not to include him in his Premier League team of the decade.

On Sky Sports Monday Night Football, Carragher and Gary Neville were asked to choose their best XI of players who have starred in the top flight since 2010.

The two pundits both picked Vincent Kompany and Virgil van Dijk to play in central defence with Pablo Zabaleta at right-back and Cesar Azpilicueta on the left.

Terry, the former Chelsea defender, was understandably aggrieved at being omitted and outlined his credentials on Instagram to justify why he should have been in the teams.

The current assistant manager at Aston Villa posted three thinking face emojis, before referencing the three Premier League titles he won with Chelsea this decade.

He also wrote: “09/10 14/15 played every minute of every game! Only the 5th player EVER to do that! 16/17.”

Despite Terry‘s incredible career in England’s top flight, Carragher feels Van Dijk will eventually surpass the Chelsea legend.

“When he finishes at Liverpool, I think he will be no.1,” said the former Liverpool defender.

“I always said John Terry but I think he will be even better.”
