Liverpool know a draw in their final group match will seal a place in the Champions League knockout stages after fighting back to earn a 1-1 draw against Napoli at Anfield.

The Reds fells behind to a Dries Mertens strike in the first-half as both teams looked for the victory that would book their place in the last-16.

But while both clubs will remain confident of getting the job done, they were left with potential work to do on the last day as Dejan Lovren’s header ensured it finished 1-1.

Much like the victory over Crystal Palace on the weekend, Liverpool got a valuable result despite being far from their best.

However, the result came at a price, with star midfielder Fabinho limping off in the early stages of the game.

Red Bull Salzburg’s 4-1 victory over Genk means they can still qualify from Group E, but they must beat Liverpool in Austria in two weeks’ time, with any other result sending the Reds through with Napoli.
