Chelsea’s eye-catching new commemorative kit has officially sold out, less than 24 hours after it was first used by the club.
Callum Hudson-Odoi fired a confidence-boosting first Chelsea goal in four months as the Blues saw off Nottingham Forest 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The 19-year-old England forward drilled home the opener then had a hand in Ross Barkley’s facile finish as Frank Lampard’s side coasted into the fourth round of the FA Cup.
Forest had a possible penalty chalked off after a Video Assistant Referee review, while Ryan Yates’ header was also ruled out for offside.
But this still remained a comfortable Chelsea win, and one to leave head coach Lampard eyeing an upturn in home form.
However, what perhaps caught the eye the most was the classy minimalist kit Chelsea were decked out in at the Bridge.

It is now 50 years since the Blues defeated Leeds to win the FA Cup at the end of the 1969/70 season, and the west London club and shirt sponsors Nike have partnered up to commemorate the victory.
Chelsea chose to re-imagine the kit worn in the 1970 FA Cup final, a game which is still one of the most iconic in the club’s history.
The Blues drew 2-2 against Leeds at Wembley as even extra-time could not produce a winner – and this meant there was a replay at Old Trafford, with the match again going to extra-time.
But David Webb managed to find the back of the net from Ian Hutchinson’s long throw halfway through the extra period to win Chelsea the match – and their first ever FA Cup.
The stylish new strip above features the Blues’ iconic lion badge, and all the advertising from the club’s partners -Yokohama Tires, Hyundai and Nike – has been matched with the colour of the kit to blend in.
And such is the popularity of the new kit fans have already flocked to the official Chelsea megastore website to purchase the strip.
A first printing of both the stadium and match shirts have sold out – but it’s not all bad news for supporters who still want to get hold of the strip.
The kit will have a second release on January 16 – a week before the FA Cup fourth round of fixtures take place – and it can already be pre-ordered at chelseamegastore.com.
