Manchester United fell to new lows at Old Trafford on Wednesday night as Burnley beat Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men 2-0.
The Red Devils suffered their latest embarrassment in front of their home supporters as Chris Wood and Jay Rodriguez gave the Clarets a comfortable victory.
Meanwhile, Tottenham’s four-match winless run ended on with a 2-1 victory over Norwich.
Pressure has already intensified on Spurs boss Jose Mourinho following some poor results in the last month, and with rock-bottom Norwich visiting, Tottenham simply had to win.
They went ahead thanks to Dele Alli but their barren run threatened to continue when Teemu Pukki equalised from the penalty spot in the 70th minute.
Heung-min Son came to Mourinho’s rescue, but the difficult nature of the victory will do little to end concern about Tottenham’s form under their new manager.
Elsewhere, Leicester thrashed West Ham 4-1 thanks to goals from Harvey Barnes, Ricardo Pereira and a double from Ayoze Perez.
But it came at a price as Premier League top goalscorer Jamie Vardy limped off with a suspected hamstring injury in the first-half.
