Tyson Fury has claimed that he plans to weigh in over a stone heavier for the Deontay Wilder rematch on February 22.
The ‘Gypsy King’ took a fleet-footed boxing approach in their first fight – and is roundly expected to do so again this time around – but insists he’s now targeting a KO instead.
For his last bout against Otto Wallin in September, Fury weighed in at 18st 2lbs 8oz (254.5lbs).
Now, he claims he wants to be 270lbs (19st 4lbs).
Accompanying an image of his now bigger physique, Fury said on Instagram: “Solid as a rock. 19stone, 270lbs coming for Deontay Wilder.”
Were he to actually come in at 270lbs, the Brit would be over a stone heavier than he was against Wallin and almost a stone heavier than he was against Wilder in their first bout.
This would be the heaviest Fury has been for a fight since his comeback bout against Sefer Seferi in 2018, which took place while he was still in the process of losing weight after his time out of the ring.
Fury weighed 19st 10lbs (276lbs) against Seferi, thought this was not by design.
