Kevin Nolan has agreed to join West Ham’s coaching staff.
The former Hammers midfielder is returning to the club to work alongside manager David Moyes.
Nolan, 37, played for West Ham from 2011 to 2016 and was a popular figure at the club.
He captained them as they won promotion back to the Premier League in 2011/12 and made 157 appearances in total, scoring 31 goals.
Since leaving West Ham, Nolan has had spells as manager of Leyton Orient of Notts County in League Two and most recently has been working as a pundit for talkSPORT.
Now he is returning to the game as first-team coach at the London Stadium. The experienced Paul Nevin is also joining the coaching team.
Nevin worked alongside Chris Hughton at Brighton and was part of England boss Gareth Southgate’s staff at last year’s UEFA Nations League finals.
Moyes had been hoping to appoint Stuart Pearce to his backroom staff but that was blocked by the club’s owners following his past criticism of the regime.

Nolan and Nevin join a West Ham side struggling for form under Moyes, after a positive start to his second spell in charge.
They have failed to win any of their last five Premier League games and are sitting in the relegation zone and face Manchester City and Liverpool away in their next two matches.
