Chelsea have vowed to conduct a full investigation as footage alleges to show fans of the club giving Nazi salutes and singing anti-Semitic songs.

The incidents took place before Chelsea’s Champions League clash with Lille in France on October 2 last year.

BBC Three

A undercover reporter captured the scenes as part of a documentary looking into racism in English football.

The BBC Three film, Shame In The Game, will be available on iPlayer from Wednesday.

One clip shows fans singing anti-Semitic songs about their rivals Tottenham and two individuals are seen performing a Nazi salute.

Another shows a fan singing about former Spurs striker Martin Chivers.

Fans on a train can also be heard hissing to mimic the noise of a gas chamber.

Chelsea fan Jason Cundy claims he would not swap Frank Lampard for Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola

Chelsea have vowed to take strong action against any of their supporters involved.

A club statement read: “Chelsea Football Club will conduct a full investigation into the matter as soon as we have been able to view the video. It is unclear to us at this point if Chelsea supporters are involved.

“However, should any individuals displaying discriminatory behaviour in the video be identified as season ticket holders or members of this club, we will take, and support, the strongest possible action against them, in line with our zero tolerance approach to all forms of discrimination.

“Such behaviour does not in any way reflect the values of this club.”
