The Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder rematch is now just one day away and it’s buzzing here in Las Vegas.
The fight week atmosphere has been really lively because this is such a highly anticipated fight. It’s captured everybody’s imaginations. Everywhere you look there are billboards flashing with Tyson and Deontay’s faces.
I wasn’t too keen on the format of the final press conference. I don’t like the two guys sitting on the chair with the fella in the middle. I worry about the security so that’s why we stopped another face-off at the end.
Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury press conference clash
Somebody could get pushed off the stage and that nearly happened when the guys exchanged shoves to begin with.
But Tyson and Deontay are both jumping out of their skins.
They’re fit, they’re really on it and there is a lot of testosterone flying around in the room when they are together.
It’s why the Nevada State Athletic Commission have taken the sensible decision to scrap the final face off.

TRILOGY OR AJ?
After Saturday’s fight, the loser has the contractual right to trigger a third bout. But if Tyson wins – as I expect him to – and Deontay decides against it, we’d pursue the Anthony Joshua fight in a heartbeat.
The winner of this fight is the number one without doubt. Joshua is in their slipstream now.
Rather than say that the winner on Saturday should get more money against Joshua, we’ll have none of that nonsense, just put it down the line – 50/50 – and let’s get on with it. It’s not about me, it’s not about Eddie Hearn, it’s about the two fighters and giving the public what they want.
We’ve managed to get Tyson and Deontay together. These two guys have stepped up to the plate – the best fighting the best. Joshua’s got to do the same now.
THE HEAVYWEIGHT LANDSCAPE
As things stand, I think Tyson is number one among the heavyweights and I think Wilder is number two. Joshua is number three.
You look down at the next couple of guys and Oleksandr Usyk is there but he’s not fought anybody of note yet in the heavyweight division. Kubrat Pulev is there as one of the guys. Obviously you’ve got Dillian Whyte floating around, although he didn’t look too good last time out.
Andy Ruiz Jr too, though has he got the desire to get back into it? You’ve seen what he did with the money he got for the first fight with Joshua – he trained for the rematch in his kitchen! Now he’s got more money, I don’t see him being too relevant at the moment.
And finally, in the chasing pack, you’ve got those who are young in their professional careers – Daniel Dubois, Joe Joyce and Filip Hrgovic.
SPARRING EXPERIENCE
We’ve had two of our young fighters out sparring Tyson in Vegas ahead of Saturday night: David Adeleye (1-0, 1 KO) and Jordan Thompson (10-0, 8 KOs).
It’s been quite an experience for them. I don’t think either of them have been in that sort of situation, I know they fought in amateur tournaments and you go away, but this is much different. More importantly what Tyson’s had to say about them has been really good – he really rates them both.
EDDIE HEARN’S CAMP RUMOURS
I heard about the comments Eddie Hearn made on talkSPORT last week, changing his prediction for the winner this weekend in favour of Wilder due to supposed ‘camp rumours’. He’s always got something to say about somebody else’s show. He should worry about his own shows.
At the end of the day his opinion is totally irrelevant to what’s going on here. His nose is pressed up against the window looking in. And that really does not sit well with him, he likes to be centre of attention. It’s about him and not about the boxers. Don’t take any notice of what he says.
FINAL PREDICTION
I think this is gonna be a tough, tough fight. Wilder can’t outbox Tyson, all he can do is be faster and he’s got to rely on that big punch.
Tyson can outbox him as he showed in the first fight and can break him down. I think Tyson will ultimately break him down this time and he will stop him to bring the WBC heavyweight title back home to Britain.
