Everton loanee Jonjoe Kenny scored a stunning goal for Schalke in a 1-1 draw with Union Berlin on Sunday.
The right-back cancelled out Robert Andrich’s opener when he took aim from 25 yards in the 28th minute.
Schalke were unable to net another goal in the second-half as the club’s winless Bundesliga run stretched to 12 games.
Kenny has impressed in his season-long loan spell with Schalke, starting 28 of their 30 league games this term.
During that time, he has scored twice and registered three assists.
Kenny was shipped out on loan by former Everton boss Marco Silva, who was replaced by Carlo Ancelotti in December.
Last month, the 23-year-old remained coy when asked about his future.
Kenny told RUHR24: “We’ll see what happens at the end of the season, but at the moment it’s only about Schalke and the next eight games.
“I have not heard so much from Everton, as they are in a difficult phase. They have other things to focus on.
“As I mentioned earlier, my personal opinion is that I can’t think too much about my future yet.
“Bigger things are happening. I also have to take care of myself and make sure that I’m doing the right things here at Schalke.
“At the moment I cannot make a clear statement about my future.”
Schalke has made 40 appearances for Everton since coming through the ranks.
