It will also be hoped the extended rest will have helped Benjamin Mendy get back to full fitness as he looks to get his career at the Etihad back on track.
How Man City should look…
As mentioned previously, Laporte will be back and raring to go, giving Guardiola the dilemma of whether to start Rodri or Fernandinho in defensive midfield.
Such is the strength of the squad he faces other selection headaches with Riyad Mahrez and Bernardo Silva battling for the right-wing berth, while Ilkay Gundogan may get the nod ahead of David Silva so he can help in defensive phases against a counter-attacking Arsenal.
How Arsenal should look…
A lethal looking front four should keep a trio of wonderkids out of the starting lineup for the time being with Gabriel Martinelli, Eddie Nketiah, and Reiss Nelson all pushing hard for starts.
Bellerin and Tierney should start at full-back while Dani Ceballos will be hoping to continue his form prior to the break against City.
