Ian Wright has called out racist trolls after sharing yet more vile abuse he has received online.
The Arsenal legend claims he is racially targeted on a daily basis and has urged social media companies to do more.
He said: “These aren’t isolated incidents!!! It’s daily!! This is what I received for posting and talking about #BlackLivesMatter yesterday.
“The abuse started a week earlier, the taunting is terrifying. Coming back and back again.
“Let’s show these social media companies how bad this has got, it’s ridiculous!!! So easy for them!!
“If you or a black friend has had online racist abuse then please post a tweet with the hashtags #NoConsequences and #BlackLivesMatter.”
talkSPORT host Adrian Durham echoed Wright’s words.
“Direct action must be taken to deal with those responsible for posting the abuse, and social media companies must play a key role in making that happen,” he said.
“This MUST change. Always on your side in this fight @IanWright0.”
In May, the Republic of Ireland police force, An Garda Síochána, launched an investigation into racial abuse Wright received on social media.
The Premier League has taken a strong stance against racism with its support for the Black Lives Matter movement.
The words ‘Black Lives Matter’ are replacing players’ names on the back of their shirts for the first 12 matches of the Premier League restart.
Additionally, Sheffield United, Aston Villa, Man City and Arsenal showed solidarity towards the movement by taking a knee before their respective matches on Wednesday.
