A jubilant Liverpool fan has told talkSPORT that his beloved Reds will secure a 20th league title next season – dubbing manager Jurgen Klopp ‘the son of God’.
Thirty years of hurt came to an end for the Merseyside outfit on Thursday evening when they were confirmed as Premier League champions following Manchester City’s 2-1 defeat at Chelsea.
After losing just once in 31 outings and accumulating 86 points in the process, the Reds sealed a first-ever Premier League title and in record time – with seven matches remaining.
And Liverpool’s title success was never in doubt, according to diehard supporter Dan.
Earlier in the season he called Sports Bar to deliver a message to Andy Goldstein and Jason Cundy – that the title was coming back to Anfield – and that dream was realised.
Addressing Manchester United supporter Goldstein, Dan said: “I told you and Jason this would be our year. I told the whole country, you just didn’t listen to us!
“The thing is people think Liverpool fans overstate our greatness. We don’t – we understate our own greatness.
“We’re back now and we’re coming for number 20, let me tell you that now.
”Jurgen Klopp… he might be the son of God. I can’t praise that man enough, mate.”
