Brazil, whose fans booed them during their first game, remain top of Group A with four points from two matches
Brazil’s players were booed by their fans again during the Copa America, as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Venezuela.
The hosts saw three goals disallowed by VAR, with Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Gabriel Jesus all being denied.
Liverpool more likely to sign Philippe Coutinho than Manchester United
Tite’s side also bore the brunt of fan frustration at half-time of their Copa America opener against Bolivia where some could not understand why the manager was playing Casemiro and Fernandinho – two holding midfielders – against lesser opposition.
That didn’t matter, though, as they won 3-0 even without the finishing power of the injured Neymar.
In their second match, Coutinho, who scored twice against Bolivia, thought he had finally given them the upper hand in the final minutes of the game, but his close range effort was ruled out when VAR showed a handball by Firmino in the build-up.
The Liverpool forward had already found himself on the wrong end of a VAR decision, which saw an effort by Gabriel Jesus disallowed.
That came after Firmino had managed to find the net in the 38th minute, but the goal was wiped off the board after the referee ruled he had committed a foul in the process.
“VAR was correct. I have absolutely nothing to demand. We got justice,” Tite said. “They made the right call with both [VAR] goals.”
Brazil remain top of Group A with four points from two games and the leaders were in possession for more than two thirds of the match, with nearly 20 attempts on goal.
But they were repeatedly frustrated despite Tite bringing on Everton, Fernandinho and Jesus in the second half.
