Gary Neville was raging after a moment of madness from Paul Pogba saw Manchester United go a goal down in their crucial clash with West Ham.
With a fierce strike destined for his face, Pogba batted the ball away with his arms in the box before pretending the ball struck his head.
Michail Antonio duly converted the penalty, dealing a potential hammer blow to the Red Devils’ hopes of securing a top-four finish.
And Neville, the Man United legend commentating for Sky Sports, could not contain his dismay.
“He’s given a penalty away and then pretended it’s hit his head. It’s rubbish from him. Rubbish,” said the United legend.
“I felt sorry for him, I felt he took a whack in the head. Embarrassing.
“A no-brainer. It’ a penalty.
You don’t do that, you take it in your grid.
“Forget the fact it’s an appalling lack of discipline from Paul Pogba, West Ham have been the better side for the past 15 minutes.”
Manchester United can climb above Chelsea and Leicester into third with a draw against West Ham, while a win would put them in an even more commanding position ahead of their clash with the Foxes on the final day.
