The end of the 2019/20 campaign is in sight and that can only mean one thing; some lovely new kits are on show.
Arsenal are the latest to release their new home shirt for next season, and we have to say, it’s a thing of beauty.
The adidas top pays homage to the club’s 1930s/40s heritage with reference to the club’s prolific ‘Art Deco’ period, where they won six league titles and three FA Cups from 1930-50.
Arsenal used a geometric crest between 1936-49 and the chevron graphic is inspired by the ‘A’ within.
adidas also say the shirt is a nod to the layout of the tiling on the floors of the Highbury East Stand’s famous marble halls – the historical home of Arsenal before the 2006 move to the Emirates Stadium.
In light of the new designs, talkSPORT.com has consulted its Fashion Police branch to pick out the six best Premier League kits – confirmed or leaked – for next season.
6. Liverpool – leaked home kit
The Premier League champions have ended its ties with sportswear brand New Balance and will begin an exciting new partnership with Nike next season.
The leaked kit designs show that Jurgen Klopp’s men will be looking very different in the 2020/21 campaign.
The home shirt is a clean and simplistic design with white streaks down the sides and blue rims on the sleeves and collar which gives it a stylish look. Happy with this, Reds fans?
5. Man City – confirmed home kit
City have become known for some bold and eccentric kit designs in recent seasons, with the home shirt this term featuring rogue dashes of purple on the sleeves and front.
Puma have again chosen a retro design this time round, and it is very easy on the eye.
It’s obviously the classic sky blue shirt accompanied with funky but subtle white mosaic designs.
Diehard Citizen Liam Gallagher certainly isn’t a fan of their third kit design, though.
4. Leicester – leaked home kit
A classy new design, the Foxes’ leaked home kit for next season is pretty similar to this season’s shirt but stands out for the golden cuffs on the sleeves.
Jamie Vardy and co will be hoping to wear the new kit in the Champions League next season.
Brendan Rodgers’ men are fifth in the Premier League table and have a must-win match over Manchester United on Sunday.
3. Manchester United – leaked home kit
A bolder approach from the Red Devils to their usual simplistic stance, the 2020/21 home kit features a black-and-yellow stripe graphic all over the front of the red strip.
The iconic adidas stripes have more prominence, with the three lines in bold on the shoulders in white. The Adidas logo is also white.
Chevrolet will continue their partnership with the club and their gold logo dominates the centre of the shirt.
2. Southampton – confirmed home kit
Saints have gone for a slightly different approach to their usual red and white stripes or hoops next season, opting instead for a mainly red home shirt and a striking white sash to go across it.
It’s very different to this season but in all honesty, it works brilliantly.
1. Chelsea – confirmed away kit
Chelsea’s new change kit will divide opinion, but we at talkSPORT.com think it’s a thing of beauty.
The new number comes in a ‘arctic blue’ tint, which is a relatively pale shade, while the Three logo is in a ‘blackened blue’.
The west London club released pictures of the second strip, saying it ‘effortlessly blends an aura of traditional London tailoring with the energy and colours of today’s SW6.’
It’s unique, contemporary and for us, the best kit that has been released so far.
