Liverpool linked with Barnes
I’m a little too young to remember John Barnes dominating defenders down the wing for Liverpool, but I’m sure those of you reading this who aren’t, consider him one of the greatest players you’ve ever seen play for the club.
But could Reds fans get the chance to see another Barnes line up outwide at Anfield?
Reports today claim Jurgen Klopp is interested in landing Harvey Barnes from Leicester City.
The 22-year-old has impressed for the Foxes this season and is capable of playing on either flank, though the Mirror reports the Reds will find it hard to prise him from the King Power Stadium with him not available on the cheap.
Whether Liverpool are really interested or indeed make a move remains to be seen, but Barnes would tick the boxes.
Young, home-grown, versatile attacking depth – on paper it could make sense even if a suspected high asking price makes it unlikely.
