Rangers interest ‘real’ in Maja

Rangers’ interest in Bordeaux striker Josh Maja is real according to a journalist in France.

The ex-Sunderland ace has been touted as a possible replacement for Alfredo Morelos.

Hanif Berkane of France Football told Bordeaux fans website WebGirondins: ““For Maja, it’s very real. I think that if Lille have made official the transfer of Morelos, the offer will quickly arrive on Bordeaux’s desk. ”

DONE DEAL: St Mirren sign Fraser

Rangers near signing No.5

Amiens star Bongani Zungu appears close to completing a move to Rangers.

The South African box-to-box midfielder is in Glasgow, according to 4th Official.

French outlet L’Equipe report the deal will be worth £3.6million.

If Zungu does complete the move he will become the club’s fifth deal this summer.

English club owner confirms Old Firm bid for striker

Celtic weighing up offer for Bundesliga striker

Celtic are considering a bid for Swedish international striker Sebastian Andersson.

According to reports in Sweden, the Scottish champions could put in a bid of around £5.3m for the Union Berlin forward.

The 29-year-old scored 13 goals in 36 games in the Bundesliga and has three in nine for Sweden.

There has been reported interest from the Premier League and around Europe, including Lille who are keen on Rangers forward Alfredo Morelos.

Celtic sealing a deal for Andersson ahead of Lille could push the Ligue 1 side closer to Morelos.

Lille chief on Morelos move

Lille president Gerard Lopez has confirmed talked with Alfredo Morelos over a move to the Ligue 1 side.

With just a few days until Rangers get their 2020/21 campaign underway, the Colombian could be set to leave.

Lopez told French media: “As for Morelos, it’s true he’s a player who interests us. It’s also true that he’s interested in LOSC. But we’re in the middle of a discussion, nothing is done.”

Celtic close in on double signing

Celtic are set to sign West Ham forward Albian Ajeti on loan, report the Guardian.

The Swiss international has struggled at the Hammers since joining from Basel for £8m.

It is understood Celtic will have the option to make the deal permanent for £5m.

Neil Lennon is also closing in on goalkeeper Vasilios Barkas.

The Greek international is on the verge of a move which could cost as much as £5.5m.

O’Donnell targets Championship move

Scotland international Stephen O’Donnell is targeting a move to the English Championship.

The right-back is a free agent having left Kilmarnock on freedom of contract after turning down a new deal.

O’Donnell had previously played in England with Luton Town.

He told the Daily Record: “I feel a wee bit like I have unfinished business in England – I didn’t feel I did myself as much justice as I should have done. I would love to see if I was good enough to play in the Championship.”
