Carmelo Anthony is definitely not the one to be trifled with.
The Portland Trail Blazers forward let that be known (once again) Wednesday night in New Orleans against the Pelicans.
During the third quarter of the Blazers 126-124 win, a fan in the crowd had a message for the veteran: hang it up. The Pelicans at Smoothie King Arena are one of the few teams in the NBA allowing fans to attend.
The heckler shouted: “Carmelo, you need to retire!”
Anthony turned around and gave the fan a cold “Shut yo’ ass up.” The Pelicans broadcast captured the moment during the game:
Anthony is the most experienced player on the Blazers roster. He’s played a huge role helping Portland to its 18-10 start this season. The Blazers have won eight of their last nine games, and during the month of February, Anthony has averaged 15.8 points while shooting 43% from the field and 43% from three.
I don’t think he will be going anywhere anytime soon.
