The 29-year-old’s manager Tom Killick has at least seen the funny side even though he is a man short
Poole Town boss Tom Killick has jokingly vented his anger on Twitter after learning – possibly via text – midfielder Marvin Brooks will miss pre-season training to go on Love Island.
The South League Premier Division South side begin preparations for the new season in a matter of days and will miss the attacking midfielder, who scored 86 goals in more than 300 games.
The 29-year-old has also played for Sailsbury FC and trained with Sutton United in addition to making a living as a personal trainer. He will now be one of 12 new contestants to enter the ITV’s reality show where a £50,000 prize awaits the winner.

Arsenal’s new kit video has been leaked and features a star studded cast
“Pre-season training starts next week and my attacking midfielder has disappeared to Love Island!!’ Killick wrote.
On the club’s website, he said: “I’m told he goes into a separate villa and needs to be picked to go on the main show.
“I hope it’s all inclusive on there because he’ll never buy a drink.”
The footballer has said he has his eye on Anna Vakili and Lucie Donlan.
“It’s changed a few times because of how people have reacted to things. My type I’ve always said is brunette,” he said.
“Anna has definitely caught my eye but then recently Lucie has as I feel like she’s very similar to me in the sense that if she doesn’t want to hang around with a group she won’t force herself to do, which I’ve admired.”
The ex-royal navy officer, who is also a personal trainer to Harry Redknapp, rates himself as a strong 8.7 out of ten depending on whether he’s got a tan.
