In the first round, the Steelers go strictly best player on the board with elite tackle prospect Christian Darrisaw.  Darrisaw has the skills to come in and start at left tackle as a rookie and give the Steelers offensive line a huge boost.

Speaking of guys who can come in and play as a rookie, center Quinn Merinez certainly qualifies. The Steelers have been great about bringing in elite centers and Merinez is the next up.

Steelers fans want a big, bruising running back and Rhamondre Stevenson fits the bill. Few players run with the forward lean and violence that Stevenson does and is surprisingly athletic for a player his size.

If Janarius Robinson was a better technician and showed more polish, there’s no way he falls this far. But right now he’s more athlete than football player but is a value to the Steelers.

Poor timed-speed drives Nahshon Wright down but he’s a legitimately good football player and has prototypical NFL size. There’s zero risk in taking a shot on a guy with his experience the technical gifts this late.
